Hello.

Recently I've been getting rather bored and so I just started throwing together the most seemingly random skills with my ranger. I was wondering if the combination could serve some purpose. Also test running some stuff.

First one is Ranger Elementalist combo. What I did was try to put as much +dmg as I could. And stick it on Triple Shot.

[Glass Arrows][Conjure Flame]["I am the strongest"][Triple Shot]

The most damage I've gotten on this is is about 55 x3 which is pretty awesome spike damage. Not to mention you have 4 more skills slots to fill with even more awesome stuff.

I've tried it with [Asuran Scan] and [Lightning Reflexes] to get some nice consistent damage after Triple Shot. Or you can add [Double Shot] or [Needling Shot] or [Called Shot] for some more spiking. One skill I have yet to try is ["By Ural's Hammer!"] which adds another meaning to spike.

The other thing I was fooling around with was arrow speeds. I haven't really tried this but it looks fun for AB'ing.

[Quick Shot][Called Shot][Read The Wind][Favorable Winds]

Basically makes your arrows go lightning fast. What I was hoping to do was to make the build into a runner/kiter killer for those bastards that run away in AB, RA with 20 health and you just pop a called shot in there behinds and drop them. Although I haven't found the time to test these skills out yet.

You dont need Fave Winds AND RtW, one or the other is fine. RtW is preferred as it doesnt benefit enemy rangers. Fave Winds is only really useful with either a full team of rangers or if you're playing as a barrage ranger.

For more damage try using a hornbow with the first build for a bigger spike. They have an inherant +10% armour penetration.

This is what Brave Rangers use in PvE in EotN against Destroyers.

Run like 15 exp and like 12 Axe and have your SAWay Necro splinter weapon you.

@ OP - On you first build add in [Point Blank Shot] and [Zojun's Shot] and be sure to use about 15 points in Expertise

Dont use favwinds over RTW, especially in AB.

Also, quickshot isn't that great anymore. Its used to be good for a 1 sec bonus shot after every attack, but now that other non elite bow attacks have been given the "1 sec fire" buff quickshot has been lacking in comparison.

Quick Shot is only 5E on a 1 second recharge, works interesting when combined with the two penetrating attacks.

Hmmm. Ranger with axe ... looks interesting ... what is the best shield to use with a brave Ranger build?

Use a Tactics REq Shield as you can put points in the line, unlike Strength.

I use one with +45 HP ina Stance and -2 recieved Damage in a Stance.

In Melee Heave areas adding in [Glad] with points in Tactics works very well in combo with [Lightning Reflexes] and [Dwarven Stability]

I was playing around and the best I was able to find was a 2 skill kill of the master of damage. Wonder if I can improve that.

Was fun to try anyway.

+20, +19, +7, +15, +75%. (14 expertise, 15 marksmanship, 3 communing was my stats along with max reps).

I suppose I could customize my weapon and use a vampiric bow to raise it some more.

I tried dropping marksmanship down. That was a bad idea. Any change to expertise and I ran out of energy before I could click dual shot.

Oh well. Was fun =)

You should go try that in combat Kumu.

I takes you 6 seconds to cast skills 2-5, how much damage will you take in that time? Plus you get 2 attacks and you out of energy, so if you fail to kill I will assume you will then be dead.

It wasn't meant to be for combat. The thread is titled: Random Ranger Fun.

I went to have random ranger fun. I wanted to see how much damage I could muster.

I didn't say anything about it being viable in combat. I said that it killed the master of damage (A stationary target) with two attacks.

I'd be pleased as punch if it could kill with one shot.

Might switch Barrage out for [Infuriating Heat].
